Ecofeminism represented in Art
I personally love nature. I was raised in a family that
went camping, hiking and on day road trips to different places in nature. My
mom used to take me and my younger sister to pick flowers and explore. These experiences
help me to understand ecofeminism. Although I understand ecofeminism, I do not
agree with all its points. Ecofeminism shows women as taken advantage of and
used, much like our earth. It blames the destruction of earth and degrading of
women both to a male dominated society.

Some art that I favored was more abstract. I liked these
ones because they really showed true “nature” to me. Although they show nature,
they also use dark tones. These darker tones show that the cycles of women and
nature are not always healthy. There is something very beautiful about this art and the depiction of realistic looking women. For example, pregnant women, women with faces and women with clothing.
